What We Offer

Phoropter

General Eye Exam

Regular eye examinations are an important part of keeping your eyes healthy. A general eye exam will look at the overall health of your visual system and is bulk billed to Medicare. You may not feel like your eyes have changed, but these regular exams help with the early diagnosis of eye conditions such as glaucoma or cataracts. Some health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure may also affect your eyes; your Optometrist will look for those changes too.  At the end of the exam your Optometrist will let you know when your next check up should be and may recommend glasses, contact lenses, vision therapy or eye drops if required.

Contact Lens Examination

Our Optometrists are able to prescribe, fit and dispense both soft and hard contact lenses. The Optometrist will conduct a routine eye examination to see if your eyes are appropriate for contact lenses. They will then work with you to choose a type of contact lens best suited to you and your lifestyle, which in most cases you will be able to trial for a few days for free. If you are a first time contact lens wearer, the Optometrist will teach you how to insert, remove and look after your contact lenses. Once you and the Optometrist are both satisfied, an order will be placed for the contact lenses. Regular reviews of the fit of the contact lenses and to monitor the health of the eyes are recommended.

Kids Vision

All our Optometrists are qualified in paediatric care and are able to check the health of your child's eyes, prescribe glasses and any visual therapy needed. Our practice prides itself on being family oriented and we are happy to look after all members of your family. Our consulting rooms have special equipment designed for paediatric exams, so we can provide the best possible care. We also have a wide range of children frames for them to choose from and offer special coatings for stronger more durable lenses.

Perceptual Testing

We offer a Visual Perceptual testing and training program. Good visual perceptual skills are necessary in order to learn to read, spell and write. We accept referrals for visual perceptual assessment from schools, doctors, speech therapists, occupational therapists and other members of the community who feel that the child they are seeing is not progressing with their literacy at the expected rate. A perceptual test consists of an initial visit for a 30 minute bulk billed eye assessment. The second visit is  a comprehensive visual perceptual assessment and auditory screening for approximately 90 minutes ($150). Results are explained and discussed with parents at a third visit (no extra charge). If appropriate, they will commence a training program with subsequent follow up appointments ($30 each).

Frame Repairs

If your glasses have broken, bring them to us and our dispensing team will take a look. We have a variety of tools that let us replace temples (arms), nose-pads, screws, lenses and even reshape some frames. Depending on the problem, if we are not able to fix the frames, we may be able to send them away for repair. We can also order in replacement parts for you as well.

Other Services

Our practice is fitted with both anterior eye and posterior eye photography, OCT imaging, visual field assessments and speciality contact lens fitting. All the Optometrists are capable of driving assessments, co-management with other specialists and therapeutic prescribing under the PBS. Our front of house staff also collects old glasses and glasses cases for recycling via the Lions Club. We are also able to order special prescription frames such as prescription goggles, safety glasses and sunglasses.
