You can have your eyes tested as regularly as you wish. Even if you don’t wear prescription eyewear, our optometrists generally recommend having an eye examination at least every two years and annually if you are over the age of 65.
Our optometrists may recommend more frequent eye tests depending on your family history, whether you have any eye conditions and if you are being monitored for any eye conditions.
If you notice any sudden changes to your vision or the comfort of your eyes, it is important to have your eyes re-assessed even if you are not due for your regular eye test.
You should allow 30 minutes for a routine eye test. We allow 60 minutes for some consultations that require additional testing, such as diabetes eye examinations or if you require a VicRoads driving test.
Please advise us of your individual needs when booking an appointment if you think you might need additional time.
If you hold a current Medicare card, our eye tests are bulk billed to Medicare with no out of pocket expense. We don’t charge an extra fee for retinal photographs and optical coherence tomography scans.

If you don’t hold a Medicare card you can still see us for a comprehensive eye test. We charge the equivalent of the Medicare schedule fee (approximately $70) for a full eye test.
Contact lens appointments are not generally covered by Medicare (some may be, depending on your prescription). We charge a one-off fee of $100 for this service which includes a fit and teach appointment and trial contact lenses which you can take home to try.
Please bring your Medicare card, private health insurance card and pension or concession card if you have one. We also provide discounts for seniors so bring your seniors card too.
It is also helpful to bring your current glasses and/or contact lenses to your appointment.
